I have hit a plateau. I don't know what to do. I want to be a toned 115. Now I am flirting with 120. Guess I will go back to bars/shakes breakfast and lunch.

Seems like if I eat more "regular food and aim to stay under my calories, I can't maintain.

I am putting my RDI back down. Hubs keeps saying I need to eat 2000 calories or more a day. I don't think that I do. I was doing better between 1500-1750.

If you started a routine with weights, I think you'd get the results you're looking for. You also wouldn't have to give up "real" food.

Me too. I have a very low metabolism and it’s hard to lose weight. I started doing more exercise. Haven’t lost much weight but I’m losing fat and look and feel better. Good luck.

2000 might be a lot if you are trying to lose depending on your height age etc, 2000 cal/day is the average metric for average moderately active woman for maintenance calories. Maintenance means no loss or gain, obviously. I am a 6ft middle age man that lifts weights 3-4 times per week and has a desk job, and I can’t lose weight averaging a 2000 cal daily diet. 🤷 So, it all depends on the person.

@recompforhealth I think he assumes I burn more calories walking than I do. I am 5'3 and currently 118. I want to be toned 115. So not much weight loss needed but toning is not working. @SherryeB What type of weight? I have two 10lb weights but I find myself just so weak I can't do much at a time. @Mike_Collier I want to feel better. I was doing more squats every day.

No one is able to listen to your body as well as you. Eat only as many calories as you need to get the results you prefer. Resistance training will get you toned.

shake and bars are just processed junk food. maybe for a treat. You can do better! how about a few hard-boiled eggs. a piece of cheese,.. focus on real food or skip breakfast. i don't know what you are currently eating or doing but carbs and processed foods = cravings.

if you're doing weights and building muscle, perhaps reevaluate your weight goal based on how much muscle you want to build- and look for results in the mirror instead of on the scale. you need to feed your muscles for them to grow

Shoot for 1440 calories *(or less) with 80+ grams of protein. *no less than 1300.

I use a variety of different weights, but I go to the Gym. I use 8 lb. free weights & 25 lb. Kettle bellls in my routine before getting on the weight machines. Google exercises to do with weights & you can find a bunch. Are you on Instagram? I follow liftinglindsay. She just made a good post about getting toned today.

I eat between 1500-1700 calories a day as it vary's when I am at the gym I require a few more carbs. I allow myself one shake a day to help supplement my protein intake but try to stay with whole healthy foods. Aim for 115 grams of protein and small weights are ok just progressively over time add weight or more reps. Also do bodyweight excercises - like hip extensions too.
