WisteriaSky233's Notizen, 14 Dez 22

Well working on some exercise with walking being not so pleasant because of the weather. Doing squats and core exercises. Trying to tone up a bit and have some resistance bands. Maybe Hubs is right and I need to eat a bit more. I wasn't expecting 113 this morning. But I didn't eat much yesterday.

Debating on going to the choir Christmas party tonight. But that is high calories and driving and I have been tired a lot lately due to the anxiety medicine. IDK I'll decide later today if I want to go.

Sometimes it is ok to say no to things. I learned after going thru cancer treatments that I cannot be everything to everybody and that I have to listen to my body. Awesome work on the squats and core work. I love that muscles are fat burning machines and then I can eat more! Well maybe not the cookies and candies!

@Redporchlady Wow I wasn't aware you are a cancer survivor. I hope you are doing better. Yes, I have been a bit tired lately. The gloomy weather hasn't helped either. But a bit a great news, my Christmas bonus was quite a bit more than I anticipated. #blessed because I was worried about upcoming bills.

I am 8 years out from diagnosis, and I am a Stage 3a Breast cancer survivor. I had chemo for 5 months, surgery and then radiation for 6 weeks. I am blessed to have the trainer I have because I do have scarring in my lung from radiation treatments and I have to deal with lymphedema in my right arm due to the removal of all my lymph nodes. I am thankful for every workout I can do! That is awesome news on the Christmas bonus!

@Redporchlady Glad that you are still fighting. I'm scared of cancer. It runs in my dad's side of the family and I hide from doctors.

Wonderful news about the Xmas bonus! Not having to worry about bills is very stress-reducing. If you've had your Omicron booster and flu shot already, I hope you consider going to the party. You don't have to eat anything -- you can just carry a drink around and nurse it while socializing (my trick for any gathering). I don't know if your area got hit with the recent Texas storm, but that would probably dissuade me from driving anywhere until the roads cleared. Safety first!

It does not run in my family for breast cancer as they did a full genetic testing on me at Mayo so they said it was environmental. The biggest advice I can give is to be proactive and report things to the doctors. My oncologist states if something persists for over 2 weeks get it checked out. We are our best advocate. Also he told me that I have 10 minutes each day to worry about it and then he said you have to let it go. Best advice he could have gave me and that was during the 9 months of treatment. I still use that advice!

@Justbananas it is at church. I'm still thinking about it. They are going caroling and church is a half hour away and I don't know if I could make it in time. The bonus was a big help. Have to coke up with a hefty deductible on the rv that the stray dog damaged.

@Redporchlady True, I still have to tackle the doctor in a few weeks. I'm nervous about it and still mad they charged me an office visit to ask me a few questions. But my attempts to complain did not work.

I know what you mean. I have to travel a few hours for my cancer checkups and sometimes it is just a 15 minute meeting and $300 later! I wish that somehow they could do some of this more virtual to save everyone a bit on $$.
