A, cuz often when you want to loose weight, you start eating right, exercising, and eating less. Some girls eat too little, for example myself. I ate around 600-800 calories a day for 1 month. It only resulted in my body going into panic mode and I went straight ahead into quoting, which resulted in me gaining twice as much weight I lost. Thus, calorie tracking and knowing the right amount you need daily can and will help you maintain not only a weight loss, but also consistency.
